
You may not be familiar with the actress born and raised in London, but if you saw the movie “Hotel Rwanda” then it should be easy to recognize her. The talented and beautiful Sophie Okonedo was nominated for an Academy Award
for her role as “Tatiana” opposite Don Cheadle in “Hotel Rwanda,” the movie that brought to light the genocide that occurred in Rwanda in 1994. Sophie was born of a Nigerian father and a mother of Jewish descent. Her early years were spent in poverty, being raised by a single mother. Through it all, Sophie’s star continues to shine bright. She will star along side, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson, and Queen Latifah in the new movie “The Secret Life of Bees” which opens up in theaters on October 17. Make sure you check it out!
